Bowling Teams Fall to Woodridge

Both the boys and girls bowling teams lost to Woodridge last night in their dual match opener. The boys lost 2354-2152 and were led by senior John Welsh with a series of 390 (180 and 210). The girls lost 1900-1851 and were led by senior Abbie Kintz with a series of 373 (182 and 191).

Ryder Swafford Finishes 2nd at MAC Preseason Bowling Tournament

The bowling teams opened up their season on Saturday at the MAC Preseason Tournament at Spins Lanes Kent. Sophomore Ryder Swafford finished 2nd overall with a series of 662 (191, 194, 277). Both the boys and the girls finished in 4th place overall and next host Woodridge tomorrow.

Bowling Tryout Information

Bowling tryouts will be Friday, October 30th, Monday, November 2nd, and Tuesday, November 3rd at Turkeyfoot Bowling Lanes at 3:00 P.M. The cost is $5 per day for 3 games. Space is limited so we are only taking 24 per day. Please see Mr. Rose (Room 210) to reserve a space or email him at arose@coventryschools.org

Girls Bowling Finishes 14th at the State Tournament

The girls bowling team finished 14th at the State Tournament on Saturday. The girls shot a 2126 in regulation and a 487 in Baker games for a total of 2613. Senior Maria Caplinger finished 36th individually with a series of 495.

Owen Sias Qualifies for District Bowling Tournament

Senior Owen Sias qualified for the Division 1 District Bowling Tournament on Saturday by finishing as the 4th individual qualifier. The team finished in 6th place, missing out on qualifying by 58 pins. Sias will now bowl on Saturday at Stonehedge Lanes at 12:00 pm.

Boys Bowling Wins Thriller Over Garfield

The boys bowling team remained undefeated last night, winning 2417-2408 over the Garrettsville Garfield G-men. Leading the Comets were Mason Gainer with a 226, Owen Sias with a 204, and Carter Derrig with a 201. The Comets were down 39 pins going into the Baker games, but shot 209, 174, and 200 to over take the G-men.

The boys bowling team beat Streetsboro last night 2312-1986. Senior Noah Page had the high game (221) and high series (408) to lead the Comets. The boys are now 4-0 on the season and travel to Norton Saturday for the Panther Challenge.
