Comets Have Success During Busy Sports Weekend

With numerous teams in action, it was a very busy weekend for Coventry Athletics. The bowling teams had both the league championships and sectional championships this weekend. Boys Basketball Defeats Springfield

The boys basketball team defeated Springfield last night 64-38, bringing their record to 15-4 overall and 11-2 in the PTC. Free Youth Basketball Skills Clinic

The boys basketball team in conjunction with the Canton Charge will be hosting a free youth basketball skills clinic for kids in Grades 3-8. This will be on Sunday, February 19th at 2:00 pm at the high school. Please see attached flyer for more information.

The 7th grade boys basketball team got back on track last night with a win over Springfield 58-20. Brendan Lushes and Law Semelsberger helped moved to Comets to 13-2. The boys have their final regular season game on Monday vs. Norton.

Freshman Boys Basketball Defeats Woodridge

The freshman boys basketball team defeated Woodridge last night 45-44. The Comets were led by Justin Christian and Carson Karakis. The boys are next in action on Saturday at Lake Center Christian at 2.

Boys Basketball Holds Off Streetsboro Behind Hogg’s 30

The boys basketball team held off a furious Streetsboro 4th quarter rally last night, defeating the Rockets 89-84. Coventry is now 12-4 overall and 9-2 in the PTC. The Comets were led by sophomore Jarmond Hogg with 30 points, sophomore Micah Wallace with 17 points, and junior Treon Sibley with 16 points and 5 steals.

7th Grade Boys Basketball Defeats Streetsboro

The 7th grade boys defeated Streetsboro last night 38-28 moving to 12-1 on the season. The Comets were led by Kamden McAfee, Brady Watson, Arico Pickett, and Kenton Duty. The boys are next in action on Monday at Woodridge.

The boys basketball team could not find the bottom of the hoop last night, losing to Western Reserve Academy 55-40. The Comets led at the half 31-27. Leading the way for the Comets were sophomore Jarmond Hogg with 10 points, junior Drew Williams with 7 points, and senior Dusty Burkhart with 7 points, 6 assists,
