The boys basketball team split a pair of their games over the weekend.
On Friday night, the boys beat Springfield 62-23. Sophomore LaNeer Surles had 17 points and 9 rebounds and junior Cameron Ray added 9 points. The JV team also beat the Spartans 45-26 and were led by sophomore Lorenzo King with 15 points.
On Saturday night, the boys lost to Barberton 72-63. The Comets had a balanced scoring attack, with junior Lucas Wagner scoring 14 points, Ray scoring 13 points, sophomores Kenton Duty and Landon Burkhart each scoring 12 points, and sophomore LaGreer Surles scoring 8 points. The JV team lost to the Magics 69-40, with sophomore Keo Plant scoring 11 points.
The boys are now 8-4 on the season and host Ravenna tomorrow.
