The boys soccer team beat Northwest last night to reach the team’s first District Championship in school history.
The game was tied 1-1 after regulation with senior Michael Maxwell scoring the lone goal for the Comets. Both overtime periods did not see a goal scored and in the penalty kick period, the Comets defeated the Indians 4-2. Scoring on the PK’s were Maxwell, sophomore Dennis Charnes, freshman Kyle Smith, and sophomore Adam Bullock. Junior goalkeeper Carson Karakis had 2 saves in the penalty kick period.
The boys will now play against Marlington on Saturday at 7:00 pm in the District Championship. The game will be at Canton South. The winner of the game will advance to the Regional Semifinals against the winner of the Kent District.
