Girls 7th Grade Volleyball, Girls 8th Grade Volleyball · MS Volleyball Teams Both Pick Up 2 Wins Last Night

Congratulations to our middle school volleyball teams as they both came away with 2 victories last night over Crestwood and Ravenna.

The 7th grade team traveled to Ravenna for their tri-match.  Game play began against an undefeated Crestwood 7th grade team.  Our Comets gave the Red Devils their first loss on the season winning the game with scores of 25-20 and 25-10.  Leading servers for the Comets were Gabby Dick and Sydney Peterson with 7 service points each.  Madi Burkhart chipped in 6 points.  Emmie Morrison led the team in the back row with great passing.  In game two on the afternoon, the girls continued with a 2-game win over Ravenna – scores were 25-13 and 25-13.  Sydney Peterson led all servers with 19 service points and RiQuell Grigsby added 5 service points.  Sophia Wulff had several good passes from the back row in the win and Bella Wertman and Riquell Grigsby had a couple good net plays.  The 7th grade improves to 5-0 on their season.

The 8th grade team continued their winning ways adding two more wins to their record.  The 8th grade girls played at home and started off their tri-match with a win over the Ravens of Ravenna – scores were 25-6 and 25-13.  Brooke Mirka and Mallory Meinen led all servers with 8 service points each.  Alexis Jackson and Ronnie Meinen each added 6 service points in the victory.  It was an overall team effort.  In the second match up, our Comets defeated the Red Devils of Crestwood with scores of 25-12 and 25-8.  Ronnie Meinen led all servers with 8 service points.  Haley Futrell and Emma Gotto added 6 services points each.  The 8th grade team improves to 8-0 on their season.
