The cross country teams opened up their season on Saturday at the Salem Early Bird Invitational.
The high school boys team placed 9th, led by junior Ben Bullock, who placed 17th with a time of 18:14.7. Senior Owen Hartwig placed 36th with at time of 19:08.6, senior Dev Patel placed 59th with a time of 20:03.1, junior Anthony Baker placed 62nd with a time of 20:07.6, and sophomore Drew Dimeff placed 64th with a time of 20:13.2 to round out the scoring for the boys.
The high school girls team placed 15th and were led by freshman Jessica Eubank, who placed 55th with a time of 24:26.3. Freshman Leah Ruegg placed 82nd with a time of 26:06.7, sophomore Amber Hankins placed 107th with a time of 27:18.6, junior Emylie Candelaria placed 118th with a time of 28:17.7, and junior Maddy Harpster placed 133rd with a time of 29:17.4 to round out the scoring for the girls.
The middle school boys team placed 7th, led by Tyson Denison who came in 11th place. Bryce Denison came in 31st, Sam Bullock came in 35th, Anthony Bokar came in 67th and Mitch Morrisey came in 69th.
The middle school girls team placed 10th, led by Ava Tripodi, Zoe Banks, Chloe Eder, and Sarrah Davis.
