Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Track Teams Wrap Up Regular Season at PTC Finals


The boys and girls track teams wrapped up their regular season at the PTC Finals on Friday night. The boys finished 3rd in the meet and tied for 2nd in the overall league standings. The girls finished 7th in the meet and 7th overall.

On the boys side, junior Treon Sibley led the way with a 1st place finish in high jump and 2nd place finishes in the 100, 200 and 4×1. Other top finishers included senior Dusty Burkhart, who finished 3rd in the 100 and 2nd in the 4×1, senior Brad Holmgren, who finished 3rd in the 2 mile, freshman Jordan Akins, who finished 2nd in the 4×1, sophomore Zach Rankin, who finished 2nd in the 4×1, senior Dillan Raines, who finished 3rd in the high jump, junior Nate Skaggs, who finished 4th in the 800, and freshman Damian Jackson, who finished 4th in the 110 hurdles.

On the girls side, senior Connie Agner led the way with a 3rd place finish in the 400 and 2nd place finish in the 4×2. Other top finishers included senior Sarah Anstirman, who finished 2nd in the 4×2, junior Paige McGonigal, who finished 2nd in the 4×2, freshman Libby Vanderark, who finished 2nd in the 4×2, and freshman Ashley Martinez, who finished 4th in the 100 hurdles.

The track teams head to Salem on Thursday and Saturday for the District meet. The top 4 finishers in each event will qualify on to the Regional meet at Austintown Fitch.
