Senior Brad Holmgren broke a 36 year old school record last night in the 3200 meter run at the T-Con Relays at Tallmadge. Brad’s time of 10:10 eclipses the previous record of 10:14 set by M. Simons in 1981.
At the Relays, the boys team tied for 2nd place, finishing only 2 points behind champion Kent Roosevelt. Event champions included the high jump relay of senior Dillan Raines, junior Treon Sibley, and sophomore Austin Hinzman, the 4×1 relay of senior Dusty Burkhart, freshman Jordan Akins, senior Daniel Fassnacht, and junior Treon Sibley, and the Sprint Medley relay of Burkhart, freshman Derrick Brown, Sibley, and senior Justin Christian.
The girls team finished in 4th place. Top performances were put in by the 300 Medley Hurdle relay of sophomore Gracie Collins, senior Taylor Shaffer, freshman Rachel Fogg, and freshman Ashley Martinez (2nd) and the Shuttle Hurdle relay of Collins, freshman Libby Vanderark, Fogg, and Martinez (2nd).
The track teams are next in action next Wednesday and Friday at the PTC meet at Crestwood.
