The boys track team won the Tusky Valley Invitational on Friday night, finishing with 132.33 points. Runner-up Dover finished with 126.33 points. Senior Dusty Burkhart earned Meet MVP honors after winning the long jump, 100, 4×1, and 4×2.
1st place finishers for the Comets included Burkhart in the 100 and long jump, the 4×2 relay of Burkhart, freshman Derrick Brown, senior Daniel Fassnacht, and junior Treon Sibley, senior Brad Holmgren in the 1600, the 4×1 relay of Burkhart, freshman Jordan Akins, Fassnacht, and Sibley, Sibley in the 200, and senior Justin Thompson in the shot put.
2nd place finishers included the 4×8 relay of sophomore Nolland Almestica, Holmgren, junior Nate Skaggs, and sophomore Austin Hinzman, Almestica in the 800, Holmgren in the 3200, and Hinzman in the high jump and long jump.
4th place finishers included senior Tyler Porter in the 100, Hinzman in the 300 hurdles, junior Ray Hilbert in the 1600 and 3200, and freshman Noah Williams in the high jump.
The girls team finished in 6th place, totaling 34 points. 2nd place finishers included the 4×2 relay of senior Sarah Anstirman, freshman Libby Vanderark, junior Paige McGonigal, and senior Connie Agner. 3rd place finishers included Agner in the 400. 4th place finishers included freshman Ashley Martinez in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, the 4×1 relay of junior Ashley Rafferty, freshman Halie Stevens, senior Taylor Shaffer, and sophomore Brooke Wightman, and Vanderark in the 200.
