Game Recap

The Coventry Comets fought through a slow start to hand the Field Falcons their first loss of the season. The Falcons came out and scored a touchdown on the first drive of the game. Coventry answered back with a touchdown pass from quarterback Jaret Skaggs to Dusty Burkhart.

The Comets closed the gap at halftime with a field goal by sophomore kicker Jack Fuller. The Comets were down 14-9 going into the half.

The second half belonged to Coventry running backs DuVale Patterson and Treon Sibley. Sibley broke a long run for a touchdown on the first possession of the second half. Dusty Burkhart followed with a pick 6 to give the Comets a 24-14 lead early in the 3rd.

Senior running back DuVale Patterson got things going on the ground with one powerful run after another wearing down the Falcon defense.

Late in be 4th quarter the Comet defense came up big, with Field inside the 15 yard line, senior defensive back Tremayne Collins intercepted a pass to help put an end to a promising Falcon drive.

It was a great team win for the Comets. Next Friday the Comets look to continue their winning ways when the travel to Ravenna.
